What a rollercoaster year! There were a lot of ups and downs (mostly ups), so we wanted to share the highlights from the first year of A Life Well Designed.
A Life Well Designed is founded on the idea that design is simply a process of making choices, and if you understand why you make the choices you do, you can take control of that process and make it work for you to create a life that’s tailor-fit for what you want.
To help you do that, we’ve created a lot of content this year to help you learn how, exactly, to do that.
Early in the year we created a short animated series outlining the 10 principles of good design, and highlight how each applies to life. Each video is about a minute long, and serves as a great foundation to understand the foundation that ALWD is built on.
These were an experiment. I wanted to see what would happen if I wrote a couple ebooks and then did absolutely nothing else with them during the year.
I spent January writing 6 books about meditation, memory improvement, card counting, ketosis, confidence building, and resolution making. These are areas that I have a lot of personal experience with, and felt I could speak with authority about. Check them out here.
Since publishing them, they’ve made me $500 this year without doing any extra work. If there’s enough interest, I might create a course that shows you exactly how to do that for yourself.
In an effort to get great quality information out into the world as easily as possible, I started the ALWD Podcast.
It’s been around for 6 months and we’ve already had amazing guests on board who have shared nuggets of gold about leadership, business development, management skills, and a whole lot more.
I’m working hard on improving the production quality and quality of information in each episode. Feedback is encouraged, so if you have anything to tell me, I’m all ears.
I’ve also had the pleasure of getting to attend a number of industry events where I’ve gotten to connect with people who are doing awesome things. Hopefully there will be more of those in the upcoming year, and I’ll work on sharing more day-after wrap-ups on what you missed.
For the past couple years I’d been working on figuring out what was missing. I was doing shows which are awesome; people have a great time, it’s fun, and it’s good money.
What I wasn’t doing, however, was sharing all the knowledge and experience I’d learned along the way. That’s what led to my founding this site. I wanted to build a hub for me to share the ways I’ve built a life that lets me maximize freedom while minimizing other peoples’ ability to control my choices.
Soon after starting, though, I recognized that there are a lot of awesome people in the world and I’m excited to share their stories through the podcast and (soon) guest posts.
Getting to talk with them has directly helped me in my personal and professional life, and I know it will do the same for you.
Here’s to 2016!
